1 Week Old
2 Weeks Old Baby Lucie turned two weeks old yesterday. She had her 2-Week check-up and passed with flying colors. She weighs a whopping 9 pounds, 0.5 ounces -- more than Ella did at this age and Ella started out heavier! Her eyes seem more gray than blue now, so perhaps they will keep changing. I've actually seen her smile a bit this week too. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to catch it on camera though. She only seems to smile when I'm holding her and not the camera. But, I guess more smiles will come with time...and you can bet I'll be posting pics then.
This week we were on our own. Nanna left last Saturday, and I felt up to the challenge to try this parenting two kids thing on my own. So far, so good. Ella adores her little sister. Now instead of saying "I'm hungry" first thing in the morning, she says "Where's our baby?" (And then she says, "I'm hungry.") Really, the only problem is trying to monitor her sometimes too intense loving actions towards her sister and keep her voice down a bit -- more for my sake than for Lucie's. Fortunately, Lucie knew from Day 1 how to sleep through her very active sister's noise -- I guess she knew from the womb how loud her sister could be.

She is SO Cute! She looks familiar, but I can't pinpoint what I recognize.
The 2 week pic reminds me of Cana! She is a little beauty. The one week pic has a lot of expression. Love her eyes in that one.
Janel, she changes so mush each week. Oh she is sweet, and Ella seems to be doing so well with the adjustment. You really do have two wonderful adn precious little girls. I was thinking about you all on the way home from your house today. You are a fantastic mamma Janel. You really do make it look easy. You are so calm and loving and yet have great boudaries. I am blessed to have you as a friend and a role model for when we are ready to give Caleb a little sibling. :) I will send the pics of Caleb and Ella playing, and any I took of Lucie, soon. Love you!
