I'm happy to report that we've been having a bit of potty training success at our house. Ella has been less than enthusiastic about learning to use the potty. She knows what to do, but just hasn't been ready to do it. I haven't worried too much because she has always done everything else when she was ready and it's turned out alright (weaning, sleeping in a big girl bed, etc.) But, I think we're getting close to her saying goodbye to diapers.
On Friday night, she was already in the bathtub and then said to me, "Mom, I need to go potty." So, I quickly pulled her out of the tub, dried her off & set her on the potty chair. I also ran some faucet water just to see if that would help. Well, within about a minute, she had gone potty! It was very exciting...Nanna and Daddy were both around to come in and praise her. I think she was pretty proud of herself too.
This weekend she tried a couple of times (with prompting) but no success. Then tonight I found myself putting her in underwear since we're down to one diaper, and I wanted to save that for bedtime. She did a great job staying dry for about an hour, and then I had her sit on the potty before she went to bed. I tried the faucet trick again and she went potty again! So, I am encouraged that perhaps Friday was not just a fluke. It would be wonderful if she was potty trained by her 3rd birthday!
